Moving Files in an Installer Project

You can move files in the File System editor to change their destination on the target machine.

To move files in the File System editor

  1. In the Project Explorer, expand the Target Machine node under your installer project.

  2. Double-click File System in the Target Machine node.

  3. In the left pane of the File System editor, select the folder maintaining the files you want to move.

  4. In the right pane of the File System editor, select the files to move.

  5. Drag the selected files to their new destination folder, in the left pane of the File System editor.

    For example, if you drag a file from the Application Folder to the User's Desktop, the file will be installed on the user's desktop on the target machine (instead of in the Application Install folder).
