Failed to generate server components file for <name>

The development environment cannot create a temporary cabinet file for deploying server components. Possible causes include: not enough disk space, .dll files are not registered, or a temporary directory doesn’t exist or has incorrect permissions.

Try the following:

  • Reinstall Visual Studio server components.

  • Rebuild projects with server components as outputs.

  • Check your temporary directory for space and read/write access.
