Installation Folder Tab (Project Properties Dialog Box)

   

Use this dialog box to set the folder on the target machine where your package file will install the end user's application.

You reach this dialog box in two steps:

  1. Select your installer project in the Project Explorer window.

  2. From the end of the Project menu, select the InstallerProjectNameProperties option.

Accept the default parent directory shown here, or change it by selecting any of the special folders shown in the drop-down list.

The default parent directory is the Program Files folder. Special folders you can select from the drop-down list include:

  • Common Files Folder.

  • User's Application Data Folder.

  • User's Personal Data.

Name

Set the installation folder on the target machine here. You can change the default folder shown by entering a different folder name. The default installation folder name matches the Microsoft® Visual Studio® Installer project name. For example, Application1 is the default folder name for the Application1.wip installer project.

Apply

Accept the installation folder properties shown, and do not close the Project Properties dialog box.
