There are two Microsoft® Office XP Developer add-ins that provide source code control: Access Source Code Control add-in and VBA Source Code Control add-in.

When you are developing your application using Microsoft® Access, you must use the Access Source Code Control add-in. This is because Access is able to store the binary portion as well as the code for its objects as separate items within the Microsoft® Visual SourceSafe™ database.

Developing your application using any other Office application (such as Microsoft® Excel or Microsoft® Word), you must use the VBA Source Code Control add-in. For Office developers, this add-in conveniently provides Visual SourceSafe functionality within the Office development environment.
