Search Description Field, Service Item Table
Specifies an alternative description to search for the service item when you cannot remember its number.
When you enter a description of the service item in the Description field, the program automatically copies this text to the Search Description field. However, the contents of the Search Description field do not need to be the same as those of the Description field. You can enter any text as a search description with a maximum of 30 characters, both numbers and letters.
The program automatically replaces the text you specify as a search description with the correct service item number when you enter it in the Service Item No. field on the service contract or service order lines, for example.
Important
If the search description was inserted automatically, it will be updated each time you change the Description field. The program will not update this field if you fill in the Description field manually.
