No. Series Field, Gen. Journal Template Table
Specifies the code for the number series that will be used to assign document numbers to journal lines in this general journal template. To see the number series that have been set up in the No. Series table, choose the field.
The number series you enter on the template will be copied to journal batches that are created under the template. You can, however, change the number series on the batches.
If there is also a number series code in the Posting No. Series field, then the number series in the No. Series field will only be used to assign a temporary number. The temporary number will be replaced upon posting.
If the journal is a recurring journal, you cannot enter a number series in this field. To enter a number series on a recurring journal template, use the Posting No. Series field.
