Reference Changes in Visual Basic .NET

In Visual Basic 6.0, project references to type libraries were managed in the References dialog box. Once a reference was added, you could access the object in code.

In Visual Basic .NET, references are made to assemblies and are added and removed in the project's References node in Solution Explorer. References can also be made to COM components. Project-to-project references and Web references to XML Web services are also supported.

In Visual Basic 6.0, controls were added to a project in the Components dialog box. Once added, they were visible in the Toolbox.

In Visual Basic .NET, controls are added to the Toolbox in the Customize Toolbox dialog box.
