MessageBox.Show Method (String)

Displays a message box with specified text.

Namespace:  System.Windows.Forms
Assembly:  System.Windows.Forms (in System.Windows.Forms.dll)

public static DialogResult Show(
	string text
)

Parameters

text
Type: System.String
The text to display in the message box.

Return Value

Type: System.Windows.Forms.DialogResult
One of the DialogResult values.

By default, the message box displays an OK button. The message box does not contain a caption in the title.

The following code example displays a simple message box.


        private void DisplayMessageBoxText()
        {
                 MessageBox.Show("Hello, world.");
        }
