Remoting Secure Channels Technology Sample
This topic is specific to a legacy technology that is retained for backward compatibility with existing applications and is not recommended for new development. Distributed applications should now be developed using the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF).
This sample introduces developers to the secure channel capabilities that are new in the .NET Framework version 2.0.
To build the sample using the command prompt
Open a Command Prompt window and navigate the appropriate language specific subdirectory.
Type msbuild.exe SecureRemoting.sln at the command line.
To build the sample using Visual Studio
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the appropriate language specific subdirectory for the sample.
Double-click the icon for SecureRemoting.sln to open the file in Visual Studio.
On the Build menu, click Build Solution.
The application will be built in the default \bin or \bin\Debug directory.
To run the sample
Navigate to the directory containing the new executable, using the command prompt or Windows Explorer.
Type Client.exe at the command line, or double-click the icon for Client.exe to launch it from Windows Explorer.
Note: ?Be sure to have the server running before you start the client.
