3.2.3 Initialization

When the reliable messaging source (RMS) is initialized:

  • The RMS MUST be in the NOT_POLLING state.

  • The expiration timeout of the POLLING_TIMER MUST be set to an RMS implementation-specific value. <3>

  • The POLLING_TIMER MUST NOT be started.
