WebAuditEvent Constructor (String, Object, Int32, Int32)

The .NET API Reference documentation has a new home. Visit the .NET API Browser on docs.microsoft.com to see the new experience.

This API supports the product infrastructure and is not intended to be used directly from your code.

Initializes a new instance of the WebAuditEvent class with specified event parameters.

Namespace:   System.Web.Management
Assembly:  System.Web (in System.Web.dll)

protected internal WebAuditEvent(
	string message,
	object eventSource,
	int eventCode,
	int eventDetailCode

Type: System.String

The event description.

Type: System.Object

The object that is the source of the event.

Type: System.Int32

The code associated with the event. When you implement a custom event, the event code must be greater than WebExtendedBase.

Type: System.Int32

The WebEventCodes value that specifies the detailed identifier for the event.

This constructor is used internally by the ASP.NET health-monitoring system. You will never use it to instantiate a WebAuditEvent object, but you can call this constructor when implementing your own event type that inherits from this class.

The following code example shows how to call this constructor. This code example is part of a larger example provided for the WebAuditEvent class.

// Invoked in case of events identified by their event code.and
// event detailed code.
public SampleWebAuditEvent(string msg, object eventSource,
    int eventCode, int detailedCode):
    base(msg, eventSource, eventCode, detailedCode)
    // Perform custom initialization.
    customCreatedMsg =
      string.Format("Event created at: {0}",
