SerializationInfo.AddValue Method (String, Int64)

Adds a 64-bit signed integer value into the SerializationInfo store.

Namespace: System.Runtime.Serialization
Assembly: mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

'Declaration
Public Sub AddValue ( _
	name As String, _
	value As Long _
)
'Usage
Dim instance As SerializationInfo
Dim name As String
Dim value As Long

instance.AddValue(name, value)
public void AddValue (
	String name,
	long value
)
public function AddValue (
	name : String,
	value : long
)

Parameters

name

The name to associate with the value, so it can be deserialized later.

value

The Int64 value to serialize.

Exception typeCondition

ArgumentNullException

The name parameter is a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic).

SerializationException

A value has already been associated with name.

If two values are added with names that differ only by case, no exception will be thrown. But that is not a recommended practice. (However, adding two values with the exact same name will cause the SerializationException to be thrown.)
