2.2.2.3 ADM-based policies compared to ADMX-based policies

There is no difference in the registry.pol file format based on the use of ADM-based policies or ADMX-based policies, so the serialization/deserialization of policy settings is identical. ADMX-based policies MAY set the full value of a REG_QWORD by using the presentation element LongDecimalElement and MAY set a REG_MULTI_SZ value using the presentation element multiTextElement. Both are defined in Appendix B: Full XML Schemas (section 7).
