Converts the specified object to another type.

Parameters

context
Type: System.ComponentModel.ITypeDescriptorContext

A formatter context. This object can be used to get additional information about the environment this converter is being called from. This may be null, so you should always check. Also, properties on the context object may also return null.

culture
Type: System.Globalization.CultureInfo

A CultureInfo object that specifies the culture used to represent the object.

value
Type: System.Object

The object to convert.

destinationType
Type: System.Type

The data type to convert the object to.

Return Value

Type: System.Object
The converted object.

ExceptionCondition
NotSupportedException

The conversion was not successful.

The most common type conversion is to and from a string type. The default implementation calls the ToString method of the object if the object is valid and if the destination type is string.
