Advanced Check Out Options Dialog Box
Visual Studio .NET 2003
Provides additional options that you can set to determine how Visual Studio checks out files. To display this dialog box, click the Options button in the Check Out dialog box.
- Replace writable
- Specifies the effect the file retrieval should have on items that are already marked as writable in your working folder.
Value Description Ask Specifies that you want to be prompted for each file that corresponds to a writeable file on your local disk. Replace Specifies that local, writeable files should be replaced with those retrieved from the server. Skip Specifies that files corresponding to writeable files on your local disk should not be retrieved. Merge Specifies that the local and server versions of the files should be merged.
- Set Time
- Associates a time with the checkout. You can specify the current time, the time at which the item is last saved, or the check-in time.
- Don't get local copy
- Specifies that the checkout should not retrieve a local copy of the items. Selecting this option disables the Replace writable and Set time boxes.
Note If Visual SourceSafe is your source control provider, you should not select this option. Selecting this option causes Visual Studio to incorrectly display the status of source-controlled items.
- Allow multiple checkouts
- Appears if your source control provider is configured to allow shared checkouts. Select this option so that more than one user can check out the solution or project.
