First, you will verify (or implement) the configuration of an Managed Metadata in a SharePoint Web application. Then you will customize the Managed Metadata term store and leverage it within existing or new SharePoint sites. Next you’ll implement document sets, a new capability in SharePoint Server 2010 Enterprise Content Management.

  • Introducing SharePoint ECM

From a free form Wiki to a highly controlled intranet or internet site, learn about all of the new Web Content Management features in SharePoint 2010. This session will cover enhancements to the core authoring UI, publishing infrastructure, the content query webpart, and content deployment.

  • ECM and Enterprise Metadata

SharePoint 2010 now supports metadata everywhere. You will see in this video how you can use this new capability to tag all of your SharePoint content and data.

  • Advanced Routing and Document Sets

Many times when you work on a document, it is part of a large group of documents. For example if you are working on an RPF (Request for Proposal), the RPF may be made up of multiple documents like the question document, the answer document and many other supporting documents and files. Now in SharePoint you can treat all of these as one unit, called a document set.

  • In Place Records Management

SharePoint no longer requires you to create a separate record center site to manage your documents. The record management feature can now be activated on any site. Another feature is the document ID service which creates unique identifiers for your documents making it easy to find documents across your site collection.
