How to Stop the Staging Service

For the latest version of Commerce Server 2007 Help, see the Microsoft Web site.

This topic provides steps about how to stop the staging service. You stop the staging service to reinstall or reconfigure Commerce Server Staging (CSS), or to take a server offline.

If you stop the staging service, the server cannot perform functions for staging deployments, such as staging updates to other servers, or receiving updates from other servers.

Do not stop the service if the server is staging projects; either updating other servers or receiving updates from other servers. If staging projects are running, you should pause the service to avoid disrupting the current staging operations.

To stop the staging service

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 , and then click Commerce Server Staging.

  2. In the Commerce Server Staging console, in the left pane, expand Commerce Server Staging, right-click <server name>, point to All Tasks, and then click Stop Service.

  3. In the Stop Service dialog box that asks you if you want to stop the staging service, click Yes.

  4. In the Stop Service dialog box informing you that the staging service was stopped successfully, click OK.
