Repairing an Installation

You can repair an installation of the development tools or the component database.

To repair your development tools or component database installation

  1. Navigate to Control Panel.

  2. Open Add or Remove Programs, and then choose Change or Remove Programs.

  3. From the Currently installed programs list, select Windows XPe SP2 FP2007 Tools Update, and then choose Change.

    - or -

    Select Windows XP Embedded Database SP1, and then choose Change.

  4. In the Windows XP Embedded Tools – Setup Wizard, choose Next.

  5. Under Program Maintenance, choose the Repair button, and then choose Next.

  6. Choose Install to begin the repair process.

  7. If you are repairing the component database, the following message may appear:

    Setup will now create a read/write file share on this system called 'Repositories'. This is required for building run-time images. For details on how to optimize your security settings see the 'Administration Guide' section in the 'Getting Started' documentation. Do you wish to continue?

    Choose Yes.

  8. In both repair scenarios, choose Finish.
