How to Edit a Campaign

This topic describes how to edit a campaign.

To edit a campaign

  1. Click Start, point to Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 , and then click Marketing Manager.

  2. In Commerce Server Marketing Manager, in the Views pane, click Campaigns.

  3. In the Search pane, on the Search tab, do the following:

    Select Campaign from the drop-down list.

    Keyword

    Type the name of the campaign you want to search for.

  4. Click Find.

  5. In the Search Results pane, select the campaign you want to edit, and in the Tasks pane, click Edit.

  6. In the Campaign Properties screen, on the Base Properties tab, do the following:

    Campaign ID

    View the campaign ID.

    You cannot edit this box.

    Campaign Name

    Type the name of the campaign.

    Customer

    View the name of the advertiser who owns the campaign.

    You cannot edit this box.

    Status

    Select the campaign status from the drop-down list. The status can be either Active or Inactive.

    Advertisements and discounts for this campaign will not display on the Web site if the status is inactive.

    To edit a campaign if the status is set to Active, in Authorization Manager, the system administrator must assign either the Marketing Administrator or Marketing Approver role to you.

    Start Date

    Select the campaign start date and time from the drop-down calendar.

    End Date

    Select the campaign end date and time from the drop-down calendar.

    Comments

    Type any required comments.

  7. On the Goaling tab, do the following:

    Set Goals By

    Select the goaling level from the drop-down list. You can goal the campaign at the campaign-level or the advertising item-level.

    If you select Campaign Level, you can modify the amount you want to order in the Quantity Ordered box.

    If you select Advertising Item Level, you cannot specify the number of advertisements you order.

    This box is not required for discounts and direct mail campaign items.

    You can change the type of goaling from campaign-level goaling to advertising item-level goaling, and from advertising item-level goaling to campaign-level goaling.

    Quantity Ordered

    Type the number of requests ordered for this campaign.

    You can only type the number of requests you want to order if you select Campaign Level in the Set Goals By box.

    Scheduled By

    Select Request or Click from the drop-down list:

    • Request indicates that the goals of the campaign will be met when the ad is displayed on the specified page group(s).

    • Click indicates that the goals of the campaign will be met when the user clicks on the ad.

    Distribute Evenly

    Click to distribute the quantities for each ad evenly. For example, if there are four ads for this campaign, the distribution weight for each ad will be 25 percent.

  8. Click Save and close on the toolbar.
