Setting Paths

When Target Designer builds the target system, it uses the specified repository path to locate files. The target system is saved in the specified target path.

To set the target or repository path

  • In the Image Settings dialog box, enter the appropriate information for the following:

Source repository path The path that Target Designer uses to locate files when building the target system. The Source Repository Path list box lists components and their applicable repository paths.

Verify the paths and update the information as required.

Note   You can use the following constant variables in the repository path:
    • %WinNT%
    • %Repository%
Target path The path in which Target Designer saves your operating system. The target path can be either a directory or a removable storage device, or media, that you install in the target system.

Verify the path, and then update it when necessary.

Note   You can install directly to target media that has been formatted by using WinDisk or the Windows NT format utility.
If you install directly to the target media, you must install your system in the c:\\ directory to resolve registry entries.

Note   All configurations use the paths in the Image Settings dialog box. Verify these settings every time you build a configuration.
