How to: Use the Visual J# Starter Kit

The Visual J# Calculator Starter Kit is a complete, self-contained application that is ready for you to load and build. The starter kit comes with its own documentation, including suggestions for customizing the application.

To load and build the Visual J# Starter Kit

  1. On the File menu, click New, and then click Project.

    The New Project dialog box appears. This dialog box lists the different default application types that Visual J# can create.

  2. In the Project Types list, click Starter Kits, and then in the Templates pane click the Calculator Starter Kit.

  3. In the Name box, type the name of your new project, and click OK.

    The Calculator Starter Kit project opens.

    In Solution Explorer, click the Index.htm file in the Help folder to see an explanation of the starter kit's features, architecture, and instructions for building and enhancing the application.
