Data Source Properties Dialog Box (SSAS)

Use the Data Source Properties dialog box in SQL Server Management Studio to set the properties of a data source in an Analysis Services database. You can display the Data Source Properties dialog box by right-clicking a data source in Object Explorer and selecting Properties.

Options

Term Definition

Name

Displays the name of the data source.

ID

Displays the identifier of the data source.

Description

Displays the description of the data source.

Create Timestamp

Displays the date and time the data source was created.

Last Schema Update

Displays the date and time the metadata for the data source was last updated.

Query Timeout

Type the query timeout in the following format:

<Hours>:<Minutes>:<Seconds>

Connection String

Type the connection string for the data source, or click the ellipsis button (...) to display the Connection Manager dialog box and edit the properties of the connection string. For more information about the Connection Manager dialog box, see Connection Manager Dialog Box (SSAS).

Managed Provider

Displays the name of the managed provider, such as System.Data.SqlClient or System.Data.OracleClient, if the data source uses a managed provider. If the data source does not use a managed provider, this property displays an empty string.
