How to: Make International Settings

Visual Studio 2005

If your team is operating in a distributed environment, you might need to configure the system to accommodate various language or text file encodings. You can do this using the International Settings tab of the SourceSafe Options dialog box.

To make international settings from Visual SourceSafe Explorer:

  1. In Visual SourceSafe Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Options.

  2. In the SourceSafe Options dialog box, click the International Settings tab.

  3. Use the Select a language box to specify the language to use for the user interface. The default setting is Same as Microsoft Windows.

  4. In the Select a default encoding box, specify the file encoding for editing, viewing, and merging text files.

  5. Click OK.

  6. Close and reopen Visual SourceSafe Explorer so that your settings will take effect.
