HasBigIntIdentityColumn Property

This feature will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Avoid using this feature in new development work, and plan to modify applications that currently use this feature.

The HasBigIntIdentityColumn property returns TRUE if the referenced table has a bigint identity column.

Syntax

object
.HasBigIntIdentityColumn

Parts

  • object
    An expression that evaluates to an object in the Applies To list

Data Type

Boolean

Modifiable

Read-only

Prototype (C/C++)

HRESULT GetHasBigIntIdentityColumn(LPBOOL pRetVal);

Remarks

An application can call the HasBigIntIdentityColumn property to determine whether a table contains a bigint identity column. This action can be useful when preparing to replicate to a heterogeneous Subscriber, because not all heterogeneous databases support the bigint data type.

Note

If an application calls HasBigIntIdentityColumn on an instance of Microsoft SQL Server version 7.0, FALSE is returned.
