ManifestReader.ReadManifest Method (String, Stream, Boolean)

Reads the specified manifest XML and returns an object representation.

MSBuild is now included in Visual Studio instead of the .NET Framework. You can use MSBuild 12.0 side-by-side with versions previously deployed with the .NET Framework.For more information, see What's New in MSBuild 12.0.

Parameters

  • manifestType
    Type: System.String

    Specifies the expected type of the manifest. Valid values are AssemblyManifest, ApplicationManifest, or DeployManifest.

  • preserveStream
    Type: System.Boolean

    Specifies whether to preserve the input stream in the InputStream property of the resulting manifest object. Used by ManifestWriter to reconstitute input which is not represented in the object representation.

Return Value

Type: Microsoft.Build.Tasks.Deployment.ManifestUtilities.Manifest
A Manifest object representation of the manifest. Can be cast to AssemblyManifest, ApplicationManifest, or DeployManifest to access more specific functionality.
