Web Site Already Exists Dialog Box

 

This dialog box indicates that, when a new Web site was being created, a folder name was specified that already exists.

The Web Site Already Exists dialog box suggests an alternative name. You can accept it or type another name.

New Web sites are created in their own unique folders. It is possible to create a new Web site in an existing folder with the Create a new Web site in the existing location template (found in the Web Site Already Exists dialog box).

To use this dialog box

  1. Click New Web site or click File, point to New, and then click Web Site.

  2. Select a template from the New Web Site dialog box that appears.

  3. In the Location box, specify the path and name of a Web site folder that already exist.

    You can also click Browse to open the Choose Location dialog box, select a folder that already exists from the File System tab, click Open, and then click OK in the New Web Site dialog box. The Web Site Already Exists dialog box appears.

  4. Select one of the three available options:

    • Select a new folder to create your Web site.

    • Open the existing Web site.

    • Create a new Web site in the existing location.
