DDUPD Utility

Visual Studio 2005

Upgrades or downgrades a Visual SourceSafe database to a new format, which is applied upon initialization. A database can be upgraded if it is later than version 3.0.

NoteNote

A new installation of Visual SourceSafe might upgrade your database. Be sure to back up all databases before making any product installations. You will also want to be sure to back up your database before using DDUPD.

ddupd <path to Data directory> [-REDO][-UNDO]

The following table describes options available with DDUPD.

-REDO

Redoes a database upgrade.

-UNDO

Undoes a database upgrade.

Make sure all users exit Visual SourceSafe before upgrading to a new database version. They can, however, have files checked out during the upgrade.
