<xs:simpleType name="TargetAdPosition"> <xs:restriction base="xs:string"> <xs:enumeration value="MainLine1" /> <xs:enumeration value="MainLine" /> <xs:enumeration value="SideBar" /> </xs:restriction> </xs:simpleType>
Target the first position at the top of the search results page.
Target the second, third, and fourth positions at the top of the search results page.
Target any position on the right side of the search results page.
The position of your ad is determined by how it ranks against competing ads. Rank is determined by many factors, including the following:
The amount that you bid for the keyword that is used in the search query or that matches the keywords found on the content-based webpage.
Your ad’s relevance.
Your ad’s performance, or click-through rate (CTR), on search results pages or content-based webpages.
To appear in a mainline position, your ad must meet a minimum level of performance, also called the performance threshold. If the ad does not meet the minimum threshold, it appears on the sidebar.
For content-based webpages, the publisher determines both where and how many content ads are displayed on the page. Higher-ranked ads appear in more favorable positions.
