ASP.NET includes a snap-in tool for the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) to give you fine control over the configuration settings for the applications deployed on a Web server. This section includes a walkthrough that introduces you the capabilities and user interface of the MMC snap-in.

For information about configuring IIS using the IIS MMC snap-in called IIS Manager, see Configuring Internet Sites and Services.

When using the IIS MMC snap-in to configure a remote server, the ASP.NET Configuration Settings dialog box is not available.
