Adding the Wireless Zero Configuration Component (Windows Embedded Standard 2009)

4/23/2012

The Wireless Zero Configuration, Network Provisioning Service, and Primitive: Wzcsvc components provide support for wireless cards and wireless network access on your device. The Network Provisioning Service component also provides support for the Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) standard. Installing these components enables you to install and configure a wireless card after you boot the device. You can preconfigure wireless cards on your device, by componentizing the wireless card's setup and configuration utility applications. You can preconfigure the SSID, WEP encryption key, and WPA settings by using the WPS API.

To add the Wireless Zero Configuration component to your configuration

  1. In Target Designer, click Search, type Wireless Zero Configuration, and then choose the Search icon.

The Wireless Zero Configuration component is highlighted in the component browser.

  2. Drag the Wireless Zero Configuration component to the configuration editor pane.

  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to add the Network Provisioning Service component and the Primitive: Wzcsvc component.

    Note

When you run a dependency check, be sure to add all of the components that are required by these three wireless components.
