CompactPCI Hot Swap Support Component Configuration

5/10/2007

After you add the CompactPCI Hot Swap Support component to your configuration, you can configure it by choosing the Settings node under the component. The following table shows the information you can use to configure the component.

Setting name Default setting Description

Poll interval

500

The rate, in milliseconds, at which the cPCI hot swap module polls the PCI bus to detect insertion or removal of a peripheral board. This property is used for cPCI boards that do not implement the ENUM# bus signal triggered by the hot swap switch, as defined in the CompactPCI Hot Swap specification.

Disconnect retry interval

20000

The rate, in milliseconds, at which an attempt is made to disconnect the software after the notification that the operator wants to remove a peripheral board.

If an application or device driver running on the hardware to be removed rejects the removal request, the cPCI hot swap software waits the specified amount of time before re-attempting to disconnect the software.

Cancel eject interval

500

The rate, in milliseconds, at which an attempt is made to cancel a device extraction request.

If the time interval is more than the value of this property, it is assumed that the device extraction request was canceled by another device.
