IVsRegisterScciProvider.RegisterSourceControlProvider Method

This method is called by the source control package when the package is loaded.

Parameters

  • guidProviderService
    Type: System.Guid

    [in] GUID of the source control provider.

Return Value

Type: System.Int32
If the method succeeds, it returns S_OK. If it fails, it returns an error code.

HRESULT RegisterSourceControlProvider([in] GUID guidProviderService);

When the source control package is first initialized, it calls this method so Visual Studio knows the package is ready. The source control package makes this call either in its override of Initialize (if the source control package is derived from the Package class) or of the SetSite method (if the package implements the IVsPackage interface directly).
