Application Verifier

The Application Verifier component is a run-time verification infrastructure used to locate problems, such as heap corruptions, locks overuse, handle errors, and so on.

This component is a dynamic-link library (DLL) that is loaded when the application verifier is enabled using the Appverif.exe tool.

Associated Components

This component reads settings from the registry and involves numerous application programming interfaces (APIs) to track their behavior. If there are no errors in the application, the verifier layer is transparent to the user.

There are no configurable settings for this component.

The core Windows OS must be running for this component to function and communicate with Ntdll.dll.
