Microsoft Windows HTTP
The Microsoft® Windows® HTTP component provides services that implement the functionality of the HTTP protocol on a server.
This component includes the HTTP and HTTPFilter services. The HTTP service implements the HTTP server protocol. The HTTPFilter service supports the use of HTTP over the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security protocol to create Secure Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTPS).
This component is used by the Universal Plug & Play Device Host component to implement the HTTP protocol on a server.
There are no configurable settings for this component.
Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is a technology that is implemented as a service. UPnP makes it possible for devices to connect to one another on a network without requiring user configuration or centralized servers. UPnP uses the HTTP protocol to send control messages to devices.
