The WMI Management Snapins component includes the following two main functions:

  • Service Dependencies Extension snap-in
  • The System Properties snap-in is a Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) tool you can use to view and change system properties on a local or remote computer. The Service Dependencies Extension snap-in is a WMI tool that enables you to view service dependencies, such as the services that depend on a selected service and the services on which the selected service depends.

The WMI Management Snap-ns component provides the core architecture needed to connect to and configure the WMI service through a graphical user interface.

This component includes the following files and applications:

  • Cmprops.dll. Provides the functionality for Computer Management Properties snap-in.
  • Servdeps.dll. Provides the functionality for Services Dependencies Extension snap-in.
