Add apps, app certifications, and services

Follow these steps to add apps, add app certifications, and add services to your Pinpoint profile. You must publish your company marketing profile before you can publish your apps or app certifications. For more information, see Create a company marketing profile.

List the applications you have developed that are built on or enhance Microsoft technologies.

  1. Sign in to manage your Pinpoint account.
  2. Click the Apps tab on the navigation bar.
    • If you have not yet created an app, click List an app.
    • If you have already created an app, click + Add.
  3. Enter your app name and select the app type from the drop-down menu, then click Add.
  4. Complete the following steps:
    1. App properties – Enter all applicable information, especially the browse categories, including Business need, Applicable industries, and Works with these Microsoft products and technologies. For Customer resources, include only URLs that specifically reference the app and link to content that corresponds to the selected resource type.
    2. Add app details – Enter your App name, Description, and Screenshots for the languages you want your app details to be visible in. The description must be written in the selected language.
    3. Pricing and availability – Choose whether your app is free or for purchase and select the countries where your app is available to consumers.
    4. Certifications – If you want to add certifications to your app, see the following section, Adding app certifications.
  5. Once you have completed the preceding steps, you can preview your app details and click Submit for approval. Your app and your app details must be approved before they are published on Pinpoint or in other marketplaces.

When you earn a Microsoft certification for your app, it adds a symbol of quality that makes your application listing on Pinpoint stand out. For more information about certification, see the Enterprise Cloud Application Logo Certification Program

  1. Sign in to manage your Pinpoint account.
  2. Add your app by entering the app properties, app details, and pricing and availability. See the preceding section on adding apps.

    The following additional properties are required for app certifications:

    • Windows Server or System Center Operations Manager as your app type and/or SQL Server selected in the Works with these Microsoft products of technologies list.
    • Version number
    • Customer resources - Support and training
  3. Copy the application ID from the app details page or from the certifications page for your app.
  4. Download the test tool kit and requirements document, test your app, review the test report, and create a test results package. The test tools require the application ID that you copied in the previous step:

  5. In the Partner Center, click the Apps tab.
  6. Select your app.
  7. Click Certifications.
  8. Next to the app certification you want, click Choose file, and select the test results package that the test tool created. Only upload your test results package if your app passed the test. If your app did not pass, fix the issues, and run the test again until your app passes.
  9. Click Pay to pay the certification fee.
  10. Click Submit for approval. If the Submit for approval button is grayed-out, please make sure you completed and saved the app properties, app details, and pricing and availability. Your app and app details must be approved before they are published on Pinpoint or in other marketplaces.

    Verification may take up to 72 hours. You’ll receive an email with the certification approval status.

    • If the certification is approved, then your app listing will include the certification logo.
    • If you are earning credits toward a Microsoft Partner Network competency, you will also see the application testing credit.

List the professional services you offer that enhance a business customer’s ability to utilize Microsoft technologies. Be sure that you understand profile guidelines to ensure your profile meets the necessary criteria for publishing.

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Partner Center.
  2. Click the Services tab on the navigation bar.
    • If you have not yet created an app, click List a service.
    • If you have already created an app, click + Add.
  3. Enter your Service name and choose your Service type, then click Add a professional service.
  4. Complete the following:
    1. Service properties – Enter all applicable information, especially the browse categories, including Business needs, Applicable industries, and Works with these Microsoft products and technologies. For Customer resources, include only URLs that specifically reference the service and link to content that corresponds to the selected resource type.
    2. Add service details – Enter your Service name, Introduction, Description, and Screenshots for the languages you want your service details to be visible in. Descriptions must be written in the selected language.
    3. Pricing and availability – Choose whether your service is free or for purchase and select the countries where you can provide your service to consumers.
  5. Once you have completed the above, you can preview your service details and click Submit for approval. Your service details must be approved before they are published on Pinpoint.
