Platí pro: Windows SBS 2003

To configure Exchange to send e-mail to and receive e-mail from the Internet, click Enable Internet e-mail.

Item Description

Enable Internet e-mail

Click if you want Exchange to route Internet e-mail. The SmallBusiness Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) connector will be created to send e-mail from Exchange to the Internet.

If you want to use the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes to receive POP3 e-mail, click Enable Internet e-mail. The connector retrieves POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3) e-mail and sends outgoing e-mail using the SmallBusiness SMTP connector.

Disable Internet e-mail

Click if you do not want to use Exchange for Internet e-mail. You will not be able to receive POP3 e-mail or send Exchange e-mail.

The SmallBusiness SMTP connector is deleted when you disable Internet e-mail and the Microsoft Connector for POP3 Mailboxes service is disabled.

Selecting this option does not interfere with using Exchange for internal e-mail between client computers.

Do not change Internet e-mail configuration

Click if you do not want to change your Internet e-mail configuration or if you have custom Exchange settings that you do not want overwritten.

Advanced Options

To check the current settings of your Exchange connectors, click Start, and then click Server Management. In the console tree, double-click Advanced Management, double-click your Exchange server, and then double-click Connectors. In the details pane, right-click the connector, and then click Properties.
