Assign users permission to view the Desktop Links gadget

You must be a network administrator to complete this procedure.

To specify which users have permission to view the Desktop Links gadget

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. On the navigation bar, click Users and Groups.

  3. Click the Users tab.

  4. In User Tasks, click Manage Desktop Links Gadget. The Desktop Links Gadget Properties page appears.

  5. Click the Permissions tab.

  6. In Users who can access the Desktop Links gadget, click Modify. The Change Group Membership dialog box appears.

  7. Do one of the following:

    • To give a user or group permission to view the Desktop Links gadget, in the Users and Groups list, select the appropriate user or group, and then click Add.

    • To remove permission for a user or group to view the Desktop Links gadget, in the Group Members list, select the appropriate user or group, and then click Remove.
To select multiple users or groups, press CTRL, and then click each user or group that you want to select.

  1. Click OK.

To specify which users have permission to view the Administration section of the Desktop Links gadget

  1. Open the Windows SBS Console.

  2. On the navigation bar, click Users and Groups.

  3. Click the Users tab.

  4. In User Tasks, click Manage Desktop Links Gadget. The Desktop Links Gadget Properties page appears.

  5. Click the Permissions tab.

  6. In Users who can access the Administration section, click Modify. The Change Group Membership dialog box appears.

  7. Follow the instructions outlined in Step 7 of the previous procedure to specify which users have access to the Administration section of the Desktop Links gadget.
