Registers a serializer plug-in.

Parameters

serializerDescriptor: SerializerDescriptor

The SerializerDescriptor for the plug-in.

overwrite: Boolean

true to overwrite an existing registration for the same plug-in; otherwise, false.

Exceptions

ArgumentNullException

serializerDescriptor is null.

ArgumentException

overwrite is false and the plug-in is already registered.

Remarks

Only fully trusted callers can use this method.

The method will interpret an already registered plug-in as the same one if it is the same in all these properties: DisplayName, AssemblyName, AssemblyVersion, and WinFXVersion.
