Check Storage Account Name Availability

 

The Check Storage Account Name Availability operation checks to see if the specified storage account name is available, or if it has already been taken.

Request

The Check Storage Account Name Availability request may be specified as follows. Replace <subscription-id> with your subscription ID and <storage-account-name> with the name of that you want to use for the storage account.

Result

Specifies a boolean value that indicates whether the name is available for you to use. If true, the name is available. If false, the name has already been taken and cannot be used.

Reason

Specifies the reason that a storage account name could not be used. The value will be true if the name can be used.

The Reason element is only returned using version 2013-03-01 or higher.
