Edit a shared data source (Azure SQL Reporting)

You can edit shared data sources that you created in SQL Reporting or created in Report Designer in SQL Server Data Tools and then deployed to a SQL Reporting reporting service.
You cannot move a data source to a different folder. You must delete it and the re-create it in the new location. You can also edit the deployment properties of the Report Server project in SQL Server Data Tools and then redeploy the data source to a different location.

|You cannot edit embedded data sources. You must update the report on premises and then deploy or upload the report to the SQL Reporting.|
To edit a shared data source
Open a Web browser, and launch the Azure Platform Management Portal by specifying the appropriate Microsoft Azure credentials. Open the SQL Reporting server on which you want to create a new shared data source.
Click Items at the top of the page. Navigate to the folder that contains the data source.
In the Items list, select the data source, and then click Edit at the bottom of the page.
In Edit Data Source, you can change the data source name, description, or database.
Optionally, on the next page, edit the credential option.
Click the checkmark to save your changes.
In contrast with an on-premises report server, you might notice that Test Connection and Enable Data Source are not included in the Create data source page in the management portal. There is no workaround for this issue.
There is no validation step performed when you switch databases in the data source connection page, so be sure to test reports to verify the connection is valid.
