Microsoft Help System 1.1 Documentation

Microsoft Help System is the end-to-end help system for content served from MSDN Online or content that you have installed locally. You can use your favorite web browser to view help content online or the Local Help Viewer to view local content. The client portion of the help system, which is named Microsoft Help Viewer, contains three components:

  • Local Help Viewer

  • Help Library Agent

  • Help Library Manager

The Local Help Viewer is a Windows-based client application that displays help content when you choose offline (local) help in the Help Library Manager. The Help Library Agent is a tray application that processes help requests to display local content in the Local Help Viewer. The Help Library Manager lets you add, update, and remove offline content, and manage your help settings.
