Understand SQL Reporting usage (Azure SQL Reporting)

Updated: May 9, 2014

SQL Reporting will discontinue service on October 31, 2014. See this FAQ for details. For reporting on Microsoft Azure, visit Virtual Machines on WindowsAzure.com.

Use the Dashboard to understand the usage of a SQL Reporting reporting service. The graphical view on the window represents the usage of the server in a scale of reports rendered at a specified time span.

You cannot download or copy a usage graph, but you can download the execution log to preserve the raw data that was used to build the graph. For more information, see Download an Execution Log (Azure SQL Reporting).

  1. Open a Web browser, and launch the Azure Platform Management Portal by specifying the appropriate credentials. Open the SQL Reporting server.

  2. Click Dashboard at the top of the page. The usage graph appears at the top of the page.

  3. You can choose one of the following time spans: 7 days, 30 days, 60 days.

  4. Based on the time span selected, the maximum reports usage and the average reports usage are displayed on the graph.

  5. Choose a scale:

    • Relative allows each report execution to adopt whatever scale is necessary to fully show the trend line of a specific report in the viewable area.

    • Absolute forces all report execution trend lines to a single scale.
