GenericUriParserOptions Enumeration

July 28, 2014

Specifies options for a UriParser.

This enumeration has a FlagsAttribute attribute that allows a bitwise combination of its member values.

Namespace:  System
Assembly:  System (in System.dll)

[FlagsAttribute]
public enum GenericUriParserOptions

Member nameDescription
AllowEmptyAuthorityThe parser allows a URI with no authority.
DefaultThe parser:
  • requires an authority

  • converts back slashes into forward slashes

  • unescapes path dots, forward slashes, and back slashes

DontCompressPathThe parser does not canonicalize the URI.
DontConvertPathBackslashesThe parser does not convert back slashes into forward slashes.
DontUnescapePathDotsAndSlashesThe parser does not unescape path dots, forward slashes, or back slashes.
GenericAuthorityThe parser allows a registry-based authority.
IdnThe parser supports Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) parsing (IDN) of host names. Whether IDN is used is dictated by configuration values. See the Remarks for more information.
IriParsingThe parser supports the parsing rules specified in RFC 3987 for International Resource Identifiers (IRI). Whether IRI is used is dictated by configuration values. See the Remarks for more information.
NoFragmentThe scheme does not define a fragment part.
NoPortThe scheme does not define a port.
NoQueryThe scheme does not define a query part.
NoUserInfoThe scheme does not define a user information part.

You can combine any of these options to configure a generic URI parser by passing the options as a parameter to the GenericUriParser.GenericUriParser(GenericUriParserOptions) constructor.

The existing System.Uri class in Windows Phone does not currently provide support for International Resource Identifier (IRI) or Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) parsing applied to the domain name.

Windows Phone applications cannot derive new classes from the Uri class.

For more information on IRI support, see the Remarks section for the System.Uri class.
