Overview of Contact Forms
The General page of a contact form can be modified, but the other default pages cannot be customized. You can hide these pages and create new pages on the form if you choose. Learn about using contact item selector fields.
The following steps demonstrate how to create a new Categories button on a form. You can also use these steps to create a button that will display the Check Full Name or Check Address dialog boxes.
To create a Categories button on a contact form
- In , use the Control Toolbox to add a CommandButton control to the page.
- Right-click the control, click Properties, and then click the Display tab.
- In the Name box, type cmdCategories.
- In the Caption box, type Categories.
- On the Valuetab, click Choose Field, point to All Contact fields, click Categories, and then click OK.
- To test the button, on the Form menu, click Run This Form. When the form is displayed in , click the Categories button.
Although the Categories field is grouped under All Contact fields, it can be used on all types of forms because all forms have a Categories field. The Check Full Name and Check Address dialog boxes will only work on a contact form, however.
Note On the General page, you cannot modify the address, phone and e-mail "selector" lists that contain the names of standard Microsoft Outlook fields. Also, the FileAs list offers two choices if only a contact's first and last name have been entered, or five choices if a company name has also been entered. This list of choices cannot be modified.
