Grants permissions on a database.

Syntax Conventions (Azure SQL Database)


GRANT <permission> [ ,...n ]  
    TO <database_principal> [ ,...n ] [ WITH GRANT OPTION ]
    [ AS <database_principal> ]

<permission>::=  permission | ALL [ PRIVILEGES ]

<database_principal> ::= Database_user 
    | Database_role 
    | Database_user_with_no_login

This syntax diagram demonstrates the supported arguments and options in Microsoft Microsoft Azure SQL Database.

Microsoft Azure SQL Database does not support the following options with this GRANT statement:

  • <database_principal> options:

    • Application_role

    • Database_user_mapped_to_Windows_User

    • Database_user_mapped_to_Windows_Group

    • Database_user_mapped_to_certificate

    • Database_user_mapped_to_asymmetric_key
