WebDriver Commands

These are the commands currently supported in Internet Explorer's implementation of the WebDriver API.

accept method

Accepts and/or submits a modal prompt of the window.alert(), window.confirm(), or window.prompt() type.

addCookie method

Sets a cookie.

click method

Simulates a click on an element.

close method

Closes a WebDriver session and the associated browser window(s).

dismiss method

Dismisses a modal prompt of the window.alert(), window.confirm(), or window.prompt() type.

executeScript method

Allows you to run abstract JavaScript code in the global scope. This command creates a function wrapper around the specified code and passes in the specified argument array.

findElement method

Finds the first element in the page matching the search specification.

findElements method

Finds all elements in the page matching the search specification.

fullscreenWindow method

Puts the active browser window into full-screen mode.

get method

Navigates to a URL.

getCookie method

Gets available cookie values for the active document.

getElementAttribute method

Gets the value of an attribute for a specified element.

getText method

Gets the text in the modal prompt of the window.alert(), window.confirm(), or window.prompt() type.

getWindowHandle method

Gets the handle for the active window.

getWindowHandles method

Gets the handles for open windows and tabs in the current session.

getWindowSize method

Gets the size of the active window.

isDisplayed method

Determine if an element is currently being displayed in the active window.

isSelected method

Determine if an element is currently selected. Selectable elements in this context are option elements and input elements of the "radio" or "checkbox" types.

maximizeWindow method

Maximizes the active window.

minimizeWindow method

Minimizes the active window.

newSession method

The newSession command establishes a WebDriver session, and when successful, returns a session ID used for future commands in the session.

restoreWindow method

Restores the active window, if minimized.

sendKeys method

Sends keys to the specified element. For example, simulating typing a search term into a form input.

setWindowSize method

Gets the size of the active window.

switchToWindow method

Switches the focus of the session to a specific window or tab.

takeScreenshot method

Takes a screenshot of the active window, up to 5000 x 5000 pixels.
