CodeDomProvider peut être utilisé pour créer et récupérer des instances de générateurs et de compilateurs de code. Les générateurs de code permettent de générer du code dans un langage donné, tandis que les compilateurs de code permettent de compiler du code dans des assemblys.

Remarque :

Dans .NET Framework version 2.0, les méthodes disponibles dans le générateur et le compilateur de code sont directement disponibles auprès du fournisseur de code. Vous n'avez pas besoin d'appeler CreateGenerator ni CreateCompiler pour accéder aux méthodes et celles-ci sont marquées comme obsolètes. Cela s'applique aux implémentations de fournisseur de code préexistantes aussi bien que nouvelles.

Une implémentation de CodeDomProvider fournit généralement des interfaces de génération et/ou de compilation de code servant à la génération de code et à la gestion de compilation pour un seul langage de programmation. Plusieurs langages sont pris en charge par les implémentations CodeDomProvider qui sont livrées avec le Kit de développement logiciel (SDK) Windows. Il s'agit notamment de C#, Visual Basic, C++, J# et JScript. Les développeurs ou les éditeurs de compilateurs peuvent implémenter les interfaces de ICodeGenerator et de ICodeCompiler et fournir un CodeDomProvider qui étend la prise en charge de CodeDom à d'autres langages de programmation.

Le <system.codedom>, élément du fichier de configuration machine (Machine.config) fournit un mécanisme permettant aux développeurs et aux fournisseurs de compilateur d'ajouter des paramètres de configuration pour les implémentations supplémentaires de CodeDomProvider.

La classe CodeDomProvider fournit des méthodes statiques pour découvrir et énumérer les implémentations de CodeDomProvider sur un ordinateur. La méthode GetAllCompilerInfo retourne les paramètres pour toutes les implémentations de CodeDomProvider sur un ordinateur. La méthode GetCompilerInfo retourne les paramètres pour une implémentation spécifique de CodeDomProvider, selon le nom du langage de programmation. La méthode CreateProvider retourne une instance d'une implémentation de CodeDomProvider pour un langage spécifique.

Remarque :

Cette classe effectue une demande de liaison et une demande d'héritage au niveau de la classe. SecurityException est levé lorsque l'appelant immédiat ou la classe dérivée ne dispose pas d'une autorisation avec un niveau de confiance total. Remarques à l'attention des héritiers :

Dans les versions 1.0 et 1.1 du .NET Framework, les fournisseurs de code se composent d'implémentations de CodeDomProvider, ICodeGenerator, ICodeParser et ICodeCompiler. Dans le .NET Framework 2.0, les méthodes CreateGenerator, CreateParser et CreateCompiler sont obsolètes et les méthodes de ICodeGenerator et ICodeCompiler sont directement disponibles dans la classe CodeDomProvider. Vous devez substituer ces méthodes dans votre implémentation de fournisseur de code et ne pas appeler les méthodes de base.

L'exemple de programme suivant peut générer et compiler du code source basé sur un modèle CodeDOM d'un programme imprimant "Hello World" à l'aide de la classe Console. Une interface utilisateur Windows Forms est fournie. L'utilisateur peut sélectionner le langage de programmation cible parmi plusieurs options : C#, Visual Basic et JScript.
