La fonction d' _fpreset réinitialise le package mathématiques à virgule flottante._fpreset est généralement utilisée avec signal, system, ou les fonctions d' _exec ou d' _spawn .Si un programme intercepte l'erreur à virgule flottante signale (SIGFPE) avec signal, elle peut sans risque récupérer les erreurs à virgule flottante en appelant _fpreset et en utilisant longjmp.

Cette fonction est déconseillée lors de la compilation avec /clr (Compilation pour le Common Language Runtime) ou /clr:pure car le common langage runtime prend en charge uniquement la précision de virgule flottante par défaut.
