Manage users and permissions

As an administrator, you can edit your own user profile as well as those of other users. You can also accept or reject requests for permission.

Managing users

Here’s a diagram that shows the user management options available on the Administration page of the dashboard, when you sign in as an administrator.

To manage users

  1. From either the Windows Dev Center - Hardware or the Windows Desktop App Developer Center, sign in with your administrator Microsoft account, and then click Dashboard.

  2. On the Dashboard page, click Administration

  3. On the Administration page, on the Your organization tile, click Manage users in your organization.

  4. From the list of users, click the user you want to manage.

  5. On the Manage users page, you can open the following tabs:

    • Personal information. Update name, contact information, and division, or delete the user.

    • Permissions. Select or clear the check boxes to enable the permissions you want the user to have.

    • Password. If your user has not yet migrated their sign-in name to a Microsoft account, you can reset their Winqual password here.

To view user permissions

  1. From either the Windows Dev Center - Hardware or the Windows Desktop App Developer Center, sign in with your administrator Microsoft account, and then click Dashboard.

  2. On the Dashboard page, click Administration

  3. On the Administration page, on the Your organization tile, click Manage permissions in your organization.

Here you can view the range of permissions available for your company, what they are for, and how many people have access to each one.

To view and manage pending user requests

  1. From either the Windows Dev Center - Hardware or the Windows Desktop App Developer Center, sign in with your administrator Microsoft account, and then click Dashboard.

  2. On the Dashboard page, click Administration

  3. On the Administration page, on the Your organization tile, click View pending account requests.

  4. On the Account requests page, select the name of the user whose request you are ready to manage, and then click Approve or Reject.
